Q&A: equation…?

Question by donnam4863: equation...? write an equation for the vertical lines passing through (2,7) x, y coordinates. anyone?? Best answer:

It's pretty simple. A vertical line means that the equation is going to start with x=. The x value you want to achieve is 2, so the equation must be x=2.

    Vertical and horizontal line equations are very, very easy.

    If you don’t get it, draw it out on paper.
    If you still don’t get it, your teacher must really really suck.

    Verticle means slope is ∞ so the form is x=c.
    since the point we are given has x=2, the equation is x=2
