Explain Slope and Tangent line

Slope: Slope is the rate of change at a given point of time. Let us discuss this with the help of this graph below: The equation of the blue line is Y = 2x + 3 We can find the slope of the line using the formula, (Y2 - Y1) / (X2 - X1) (0,3) and (1,5) are two points on the lineĀ  Y = 2X +3, (5-3)/(1-0) = 2 slope is also known as the rise and run of the curve rise and run means how the curve moves along the x axis and the y axis. slope = 2 = 2/1 so a rise of 2 and the run of 1 rise of 2 means the line moves 2 steps up on the y-axis, and 1 step on the x-axis. suppose if the slope is negative, it means the curve moves down on the y-axis. Thus slope determines the steepness of the curve.
